City of Rockingham, another city on the south worth visiting indeed.I was there this morning and it is indeed a beautiful city. So where exactly is Rockingham? It's a holiday resort, 47km south of Perth. History sees Rockingham as one of the earliest settlements in WA.In the early days, Rockingham was a busy port for the timber industry, shipping Jarrah and Sandalwood overseas. Nowadays, it is a popular tourist destination. It is by the beach and many people buy houses there as their weekend getaway place..If I have money, I would also like to invest in a house there for it is a nice place. Life is slow and peaceful. It is about 30 mins drive from the city and I guess on weekends people spend time at the park, overlooking the sea. Properties are selling for prices ranges between 200k to 800k. There is huge shopping mall on Read St, and if I were to stay there I think that's where I would be spending my weekend..hahah.. There is a park on where people go and spend the time, Churchill Park. The only thing I found odd was that there was not that many shops open, eating places I mean. We were trying to look for food but most of the restaurants were closed. Perhaps they only open at night?? The ice cream parlour was very popular though, for even though it was quite cold today, people still go and buy ice cream
:-) When we left Rockingham at about 4 pm, there was a band playing at the park, and people were beginning to crowd the place. We might be going back to Rockingham soon, but I will remember it as a peaceful place worth visiting.

It has started to feel like winter, day is cold, night is even colder..every where I go, I need my jacket or sweater and my scarf. The day is getting shorter and the night longer. Day after day, it is getting more and more difficult to get up early to go to work, for the warm bed is very tempting indeed. I don't mind the cold weather really, especially when I remember how warm it was when I was home last. I wonder what it would be like when winter is here, by then I think I would need an slip, a shirt, a sweater and on top of that, a winter jacket, and scarf and socks.. oh, and gloves too. Not forgetting, thick stockings under my pants. It is freezing when standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus.. heheh..and yesterday I found out that St George's Terrace, the street where I work in, is a wind tunnel!!! No wonder it's sooo cold. From outside my office, I could hear the wind in the elevator shaft, and it sounds scary. Ahh well, another month to go before winter arrives, still got time to stock up on winter clothing so that I will always be warm :-)- well, that or find a man to keep me warm.. hahahah...

I have returned!!!! :-) such a relieve to be back on this stranger land which I call home now. After 10 days back home (KK lah...) it feels good to be back. It had been a warm and humid 10 days in KK, air was stuffy and I was sweating like a piggy the whole time. You can go into the shower and you'll be sweating by the time you come out from the bathroom..sometimes I wonder 'Why do I bother showering??' hehehe...sometimes I shower 3 times a day!!!! When I go out to eat with friends, I pray that it will be at a place with aircon so that I can eat in peace :-)And oh, thank goodness for air-conditioned car!!!!

I was glad to be back, even for the short time. I managed to meet up with close friends and relatives in between running around trying to sort out some loose ends.10 days were really too short to do all the things that I'd wanted to do.Wish I had more time. It was great meeting up with old friends and colleagues. It's been sometime since I engaged in some serious gossipping..hahah... I had a hectic schedule but a great one.

Today I went to Mathilda Bay for a walk and while sitting down on the bench beside the Swan River, I realised how fresh the air was, and how much space there was (and by space I mean, the surrounding). The air was cold and crisp. And the beauty of it all was - there was no sweat!!

For friends who are reading this right now, you should come and experience this, it's worth it :-)

Do you know that rambutans are selling for $24.99 a kg!!!!??? Crazy or what??? I had to look twice at the price when I saw it the other day at Woolies. I just wonder if anyone buys them..hmmm.. back home they are selling for RM1 a bunch and if your lucky, you can even get them for 50 sen a bunch. Kangkung is selling for $5.00 a kg and papayas, well I have mentioned how much they cost before. Simply atrocious!! Well, I am going home to eat my rambutans :-) which will be soon!!
My first outdoor cinema experience in more than 20 years.. or was it 30?? hmm.. it was so long ago. I remember there was van that used to come by the town every few months or so and show these really old films at the 'town padang'. Wow! I remember how great it was, watching big screen movie under the stars :-)

Well, last night I went to one in Burswood with Janet and Evelyn. When we arrived there were already people setting up their "territory". They had picnic chairs, blankets, food.. some even brought their pillows and bean bags!! We were there with our picnic chairs, some food, coffee..hmmm.. heaven!! and sweaters and blankets.. yeah it was cold and as the night progressed, we were very thankful for the sweaters and blankets. In a way, it is like a picnic under the stars :-) I think it is great, especially when you go with a few friends. The first movie started at 8pm, 'Music and Lyrics' which was a light comedy by Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. The little girl sitting in front of me was happily dancing to the songs. When the first movie ended, everyone made a bee line for the toilet to get ready for the second show. The second show was not as great though. It was about a man who has his life dictated by a writer. Hmm... I can't seem to remember its title, it was that boring..haha..Anyway, we sat through the whole movie and only got home a quater to midnight. All in all it was great :-)
