Here are some pics taken over the past 2 days, and some taken today at King's Park and Hillarys Boat Harbour :-)We rented a car and off we went. It was very hot today despite being the last day of autumn. Tomorrow Winter officially starts. Even though the air is cool but the sun is blazing hot it stings the skin.

First visit to Perth

So just what do people do on their first visit to Perth? A visit to the city centre!! Yes, you would not have seen Perth if you have not been walking down Hay Street Mall, joining the thousand others who just happen to like hanging out there. And how do you spot the tourists? Easy peasy - look out for people with cameras!! Like me, for the past few days!!! :-) Not that I am a very good photographer.. haha.. Attractions in the city centre? London Court is a popular place, probably the most interesting place along Hay Street Mall..then there is the clock tower, David Jones, Myers, and for the not so wealthy people there is Reject shop and Crazy Clark :-) Of course the souvenir shops for tourists to buy 'thingies' to bring home. And if you ran out of places to take pics in, try the bus stop.. haha...

Trying out my cooking skills :-)

Yeap, just like the title suggest, trying out my cooking skills. For friends who know me, this will make them laugh :-) Yes, I know, I know... not a terribly good cook. Well, I know I can fry eggs, or boil rice. Anyway, the challenge of the day was to make 'Curry Puffs' !!! My friend Valerie was very patient in showing me what to do. This was my third attempt, and I think I am getting better at it. So just how to make curry puffs? Easy, first, dice some potatoes, next.. ok, I think a pic paints a thousand words, so let me show you some.. though I must admit, I missed out on her making the dough!! haha.. I was watching a DVD then..

Preparing for the challenge - challengers having lunch first

Another weekend is here
And so the week passes and another weekend is here again. Seems like just yesterday that it was Saturday. Today brings us to Fremantle, a city by the sea. It was cold and everyone had their jackets and scarf.
First stop, E-Shed Market, a market-like place where you can get cheap souvenirs. It's situated on historic Victoria Quay, overlooking the ferry terminal to Rottness Island.. another tourist destination, one I will go visit one day :-)
Second stop, Fremantle Markets, originally opened in 1897 during the gold rush.It has more than 150 stalls selling a myriad of things, from souvenirs to jewellery to food and antiques.
Finally, after a busy afternoon of window shopping, we went for dinner at the waterfront. There are many restaurants there, famous for their fish-n-chips.. and that was what we had... but hmmm... we forgot to take any pics until after dinner!!!! So, there are no pics to show how great the food was :-(
